Android 2.4 to be called Gingerbread & to be released in April
Android 2.4, like reported earlier, isn’t a major upgrade from Android 2.3 A.k.a Gingerbread and not Ice Cream Sandwich. So rightfully will still retain its codename as Gingerbread. Android 2.4 just brings in support for apps designed to take advantage of multi-core processors to devices with a single core. So Android 2.4 is going to be launched just to take advantage of apps developed for Honeycomb/Android 3.0.
So apparently we will get yet another version of Android in May during the Google I/O developer conference?
