Apple can continue to sell iPad in China

The Shanghai court has rejected the appeal from Proview Technologies to bring preliminary injection against iPad sales in China. This means Apple can sell iPads in China without them getting confiscated.

Proview Technologies, asked for ban on iPad sales in China as it still hold trademark to the word iPad and asked for $1.6 Billion as compensation and an apology or to sell iPad in China under a different name. Apple bought the trademark ‘iPad’ back in 2009 from Proview technologies from ten different countries for mere $55,000 where Proview didn’t know it was Apple who was buying the trademark.

Proview Technologies which has been under control of Bank China and Minsheng Bank since 2009 for being debt laden, is said to have the iPad trademark the only asset as of now.
