The augmented reality browser Layar has now landed on the iPhone App store.

For the uninitiated, Augmented reality basically means the placement of a layer of digital information over a real world view of the place surrounding you, as seen through a mobile phone’s camera lens.

This concept will really come in handy when you arrive at any unknown place. Using the concept of augmented reality on your mobile phone, you could get information of the place around you and also get up-to date information about any nearby restaurants, ATMs etc on the phone screen.
