BrightKite Now Available on Nokia And Palm
Foursquare, have caused sort of revolution in last few weeks. With its goodies like being able to be the mayor of the place you frequently visit and earn badges accordingly has attracted hell loads of people to use foursquare. For those who came in late, Foursquare is a location based social networking service/game. You can check-in from your current location and earn badges, which makes this service tremendous success.
But did you know that BrightKite launched the similar service much before foursquare with similar features minus the hoopla. While foursquare client is available only for iPhone, Blackberry and WinMo devices BrightKite recently added support for Symbian and Palm to its already huge list which includes: iPhone, Android and BlackBerry. While they actually released the app in OVI Store on Jan 26th it was announced in public only today.
“Brightkite has always been committed to supporting all mobile phone users and we have an extensive mobile website and SMS functionality that everyone can use. However, as many users trade up to smartphones, we want to support them with applications that provide seamless posting and integration with camera and GPS capabilities. The new Nokia and Palm apps allow more people to use Brightkite in the easiest and most rewarding ways,” commented Brightkite founder Brady Becker.
You can download the app from OVI store for Symbian phone and Palm users can download from Palm App catalog.
So if you want to use somewhat similar service like Foursquare on your Symbian device, you may use Brightkite.
