Firefox for Maemo gets released

Finally, after 5 Betas and 3 RC versions, Firefox for Mobile has finally got released on the Maemo Platform. Therefore starting today, all the Nokia N900 owners can enjoy many of the same Firefox features they know and love on the desktop, on their mobile device now.

The Main features of Firefox for Mobile on Maemo are:

  • Awesome Bar – You can now go to your favorite sites in just a couple of keystrokes with intelligent and personalized searching.
  • Weave Sync – You can sync your Firefox tabs, history, bookmarks and passwords between your desktop and mobile device for a seamless browsing experience
  • Support for Add ons – Yup! Firefox For mobiles supports addons as well. You can now customize your Firefox by adding small pieces of functionality, like games and news readers, that help make the mobile Web browser your own.
  • Location-Aware Browsing – You can now get maps and information relevant to your location.
  • Tabbed browsing – You can view open tabs as thumbnails to easily identify and select the web page you would like to go.
  • Safe Browsing – Get an Instant Web Site ID and easily access and edit the security settings.
  • Now Available in more than 30 languages and counting.

Firefox for Mobile is currently available for download on the Nokia N900. To download, head over to firefox.com/mobile on your default mobile browser.
