Firefox Release Candidate for Maemo out



Looks like Firefox for Maemo is finally shaping up with the release of first release candidate (RC 1) of Firefox for Maemo.

Here is a list of changes that appears on Firefox for Maemo RC1:

  1. Improved Text Rendering.
  2. New hooks for add-on developers has now been added.
  3. Many N900 specific issues, including installing to /opt and the fixing the symbol picker has now been fixed along with regular bug fixes.

If you have already installed Firefox for Maemo beta 5 on your N900 or N810 device, a software update will shortly happen.  However if you cannot wait till the software update happens, you can install it directly from here.

If you want to use Firefox for Maemo on your desktop or you don’t have a Maemo device but still want to check out Firefox for Maemo browser, you can download the unbranded Fennec desktop versions for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
