Follow Santa around the world on your phone

December 23rd, 2009 | View Comments | Posted in Google

Want to know where Santa is, this Christmas? Google to your rescue again!

Google is helping out NORAD track the Santa, again like the past 5 years. Previously, Google has various methods tracking Santa, which includes “Santa-cam” videos, 3D SketchUp models of Santa’s sleigh and his North Pole home and also a feed of Santa’s location from NORAD headquarters. And while there are several ways to keep up with Saint Nick, Google’s has been pretty popular over the last five years.

Last year i.e. 2008 was the biggest year for NORAD Tracks Santa as more than 8 million people tracked Santa on Christmas Eve and Google is hoping that the the turnout will increase this year even more and hence created a Google Earth plug-in which works on the NORAD site, instead of using the Google Earth client to follow Santa in Google Earth’s immersive, 3D environment directly within your web browser. You can now track him on your mobile device as well by visiting m.noradsanta.org or searching for “Santa” on Google Maps for Mobile, on Twitter by following @noradsanta and also by using the newly launched real time search.

With so many tools present, Tracking every move of Santa is a cakewalk. Isnt it?

To track Santa visit www.noradsanta.org for every move of Santa starting at 2 a.m. ET on the 24th. So Good luck and enjoy tracking Santa!
