Apple now has a market capitalization of $500.1 billion. It could go on to become the first company to ever reach a trillion dollar valuation. The valuation of this tech giant is nearly halfway to the 10-figure mark. And with all the speculation we are sure to hear a lot of good news that Apple will announce over the next six months. The iPad 3 is expected next week, the iPhone 5 should appear this summer, and Apple will launch iTV later this year.
Apple now has at least twice the market cap of all but three other U.S.-listed public companies:
- ExxonMobil at $410.7 billion.
- PetroChina at $281.9 billion.
- Microsoft at $267.4 billion.
As we know that most of these companies have their rise in value due to strength in a particular sector like oil and gas for Exxon. Apple’s rise is based on its strong growth in revenue and profits from a small number of extremely popular devices.
Can Apple eventually hit $1 trillion or more , to be the most valuable company of all time? Why not..
