Wanted to know how to update your Twitter or Facebook status directly from your N900‘s Instant message client? , Now you can achieve it using the built in Conversations application by following just a few easy steps mentioned below, all thanks to Pixelpipe.

1. Open the Contacts application on your N900 and create a new contact called Pixelpipe, you will then need to select “Add field” and scroll down and select the type of IM service you are utilizing, eg Google Talk or Ovi.

2. In the new service field enter pixelpipe@im.pixelpipe.com as the address and save it.

3. Now open the new Pixelpipe contact and select the IM service option from the Contacts or Conversations applications.

4. You now need to send Pixelpipe a message with your application key so that they can bind your IM address to your Pixelpipe account. To find your Application key and specific instructions, visit Pixelpipe.com/tools under the Instant Messaging heading.  You will have to sign in to see your application key & the format to send is “verify-application_key

6. You can now add your favorite blogs and status services from Pixelpipe.com from the desktop or m.pixelpipe.com from your handset and start posting from Nokia Contacts & Conversations on your N900.

Note: You can use the built in IM client or a 3rd party application like Pidgin as per your preference, to add PixelPipe as your Buddy.
