Microsoft Doesn’t Care If You Are Using Mac Or PC

November 3rd, 2009 | View Comments | Posted in Windows Phone

In an attempt to promote developers to develop apps for the Windows Marketplace for Mobile aka Windows Mobile app store, Microsoft releases a new video suggesting that it doesn’t matter whether you are a MAC or a PC user. All they want is you to develop apps for them.

Take a look at the video:

Currently there are hardly 281 apps in the Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Whereas, Apple’s app store prides itself with 100,000 apps and Android Market has around 10,000 apps. MSMobiles has given a rough numbers of apps in each category.

    • Books: 1
    • Business Center : 9
    • Communication: 18
    • Reference: 20
    • Entertainment: 17
    • Games: 111
    • Lifestyle: 20
    • Maps and Search: 1
    • Music and Video: 6
    • News and Weather: 7
    • Productivity: 19
    • Social Networks: 6
    • Travel: 19
    • Tools: 27
  • So the total is:
    1+9+18+20+17+111+20+1+6+7+19+6+19+27 = 281 apps only.

it looks like Microsoft is taking extra efforts to increase the number as soon as possible.
