Nokia working on Tablet – confirms Nokia design chief

The much anticipated rumor of this month, whether Nokia is building its own Tablet, has come to an halt (thankfully). Nokia’s design chief, Marko Ahtisaar, has spilled the beans to the Finnish magazine Kauppalehti Optio and have confirmed that Nokia, indeed is working on a tablet.

“We are working on it,” he was quoted as saying.

“We continue to eye the tablet space with interest, but have made no specific announcements,” a company spokesman said on Thursday.

Nokia’s CEO, Stephen Elop has too confirmed that Nokia finds the tablet category quite interesting but they need to get to it with a different approach rather than becoming a yet another iPad competitor.

We’ll see more of these rumors once Microsoft brings out the Windows 8 to the OEMs. Stay tuned.
