TwitterPeek: The World’s First Dedicated Twitter-only Mobile Device

Twitter Peek

Mobile Email Device Manufacturer Peek has joined hands with Twitter to bring out the world’s first Twitter-only Mobile Device: “TwitterPeek“.

This new handset lets you send and receive tweets, Direct messages, Follow new users, and view Twitpic images. TwitterPeek also packs in a 2.7″ x 4″ Color Screen, QWERTY keyboard, and has a no-contract nationwide unlimited wireless coverage.

However what TwitterPeek lacks in, is a Web Browser, so if you find any interesting article to read on your timeline, you will not be able to read it. Also there is no search feature on the phone. So if you want to search your previous tweets or keep a tab on tweets about your brand/product, this phone would be pretty much useless.

Currently available for sale from Amazon.com or TwitterPeek.com, this Twitter-only handset costs you $100, which includes 6 months of free wireless service and after 6 months, it will cost you $7.95 per month. However if you are a twitter addict, then you can also pay up $200 Upfront and get lifetime wireless coverage.

With so many Internet enabled phones and economical data charges everywhere, I highly doubt whether there would be a market for TwitterPeek.

What do you say? Do you think there would be a market for these niche phone? Tell us your views below.
